My name is Susan,

I'm currently a student at Franciscan University.  I first went to Medjugorje in August 1996 (with Tom!) because my mother was going and I didn't want to be left behind.  I experienced a profound conversion there.  I began to discern a religious vocation while in Medjugorje.  Exactly one year later, on the Feast of the Assumption, I entered the Oasis of Peace in Medjugorje.  For those of you who don't know, the Oasis of Peace is one of the new religious communities in Medjugorje.  I quickly realized that I was not called to this community, and I left after only six weeks.  I returned to Medjugorje on my own in April 1998 and stayed for two months.  This was a wonderful pilgrimage for me.  I cannot tell you what a beautiful experience it was to be able to live in the village.

After I returned from my third trip to Medjugorje, I spent some time looking into various lay missionary groups.  I realized, however, that I could do much more if I had a college degree, so I am now a freshman at Franciscan University.  I am working on an education degree, and hope to be a missionary after graduation.

In the love of Christ,
Susan
